Lisa Chollet is the Democrat running for Colorado House District 65 against Republican Mike Lynch.
Here are some issues important to Ms. Chollet:
- Education: Increase of funding in education in Colorado so that one of the best places to live also has the best educational opportunities for its students.
- Woman’s Reproductive Rights: Ms. Chollet is a full supporter of a woman’s right to choose. It is such a personal and life changing issue and the best people to make those decisions are the woman and her doctor.
- Gun Violence Prevention: Supports responsible regulations to help reduce gun violence, including raising the age to purchase long guns to 21 years, registration and licenses for all guns should be registered and licensed just as we do our vehicles, gun owner liability in the case of a crime, and the restriction of ownership of assault/military style firearms to the military, police, and range owners/instructors.
- Infrastructure: Prioritize state and community partnerships in trying to balance issues of population growth, rising housing costs, water, and crumbling and inadequate roads and bridges.
- Mental health: Fund and expand mental health services in our communities, particularly for children and adolescents in schools, as well as for people suffering from addiction.
Ms. Chollet is a Colorado native currently living in Wellington with her family, pets, and husband. She is a self-employed consultant to small businesses in the construction industry and owns an e-commerce business. Ms. Chollet has been active in Poudre School District for ten years, where she served as an advocate for parents with kids who have Individualized Education Plans, co-Chaired the District Accountability Committee, and just finished her 8th year on the Budget Advisory Committee. She is Planning Commissioner for Wellington, and a member of the Water and Sewer Rate Board.

Colorado House District 65 comprises the areas north and east of Fort Collins, including Bellevue, Laporte, Wellington, Severance, Eaton, and Windsor. The seat was formerly held by Republican Rod Pelton who is running for Colorado State Senate.
